چکیده

Auxin regulates many aspects of plant growth and development. Auxin is known to regulate gene expression through degradation of the AUX/IAA proteins, short-lived nuclear proteins that regulate gene transcription. The AUX/IAA proteins are degraded through the action of a ubiquitin protein ligase called SCF. Auxin promotes the interaction between AUX/IAA proteins and SCF in a soluble extract, suggesting that the auxin receptor is a soluble factor. These studies also indicate that the auxin-induced AUX/IAA–SCF interaction does not depend on phosphorylation or hydroxylation of AUX/IAA proteins. Although the mechanism of auxin-induced AUX/IAA– SCF interaction is not yet clear, auxin might induce a modification in TIR1, AUX/IAA proteins or an adaptor protein that is required for the interaction.

Comparing the effects of endurance and resistance trainings on gene expression involved in protein synthesis and degradation signaling pathways of Wistar rat soleus muscle

Background: Skeletal muscle mass, which is regulated by a balance between muscle protein synthesis and degradation, is an important factor for movement to meet everyday needs, especially in pathological conditions and aging. The purpose of the present investigation was to compare the alterations of the gene expression involved in muscle protein synthesis and degradation signaling pathways induc...

Mechanism of auxin-regulated gene expression in plants.

Plant hormones control most aspects of the plant life cycle by regulating genome expression. Expression of auxin-responsive genes involves interactions among auxin-responsive DNA sequence elements, transcription factors and trans-acting transcriptional repressors. Transcriptional output from these auxin signaling complexes is regulated by proteasome-mediated degradation that is triggered by int...

Ubiquitination and auxin signaling: a degrading story.

Signaling pathways are rarely straightforward, and auxin signal transduction is no exception. The diverse events in which auxin is involved tell of the daunting complexity behind the plant’s response to auxin. This one molecule can cause changes in rates of cell division and cell elongation, alter ion fluxes across membranes, cue changes in patterning and differentiation, and affect the express...

Rice Dwarf Virus P2 Protein Hijacks Auxin Signaling by Directly Targeting the Rice OsIAA10 Protein, Enhancing Viral Infection and Disease Development

The phytohormone auxin plays critical roles in regulating myriads of plant growth and developmental processes. Microbe infection can disturb auxin signaling resulting in defects in these processes, but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. Auxin signaling begins with perception of auxin by a transient co-receptor complex consisting of an F-box transport inhibitor response 1/auxin sig...

Crosstalk of arabinogalactan protein, auxin, gibberellin, and callose in Al-treated Tea seedlings

Arabinogalactan proteins (AGP) are a class of cell surface plant peptidoglycans which have been implicated in root elongation and signal transduction pathways. AGPs function not only as markers of cellular identity but also as signaling molecules, which might initiate signal transduction. Aluminum promotes the elongation of tea (Camellia sinensis L.) roots. Although some mechanisms by which Al ...

Oligomerization of SCFTIR1 Is Essential for Aux/IAA Degradation and Auxin Signaling in Arabidopsis

The phytohormone auxin is a key regulator of plant growth and development. Molecular studies in Arabidopsis have shown that auxin perception and signaling is mediated via TIR1/AFB-Aux/IAA co-receptors that assemble as part of the SCFTIR1/AFB E3 ubiquitin-ligase complex and direct the auxin-regulated degradation of Aux/IAA transcriptional repressors. Despite the importance of auxin signaling, li...
